At Carleton Jones, we foster and encourage the spiritual growth of our learners, as we want them to have a sense of purpose in their lives. In order for the learners to become successful adults, we will endeavour to optimize our learners’ academic development and assist them to take a step into successful adult lives. We will also focus on their psycho-social and cultural development, in order to produce happy, well-balanced learners. We encourage learners to become lifelong learners starting with tertiary institutions. The ethos of contributing positively to the world around them in whatever way is being ingrained through a reward system for service above self.

Our History

Carleton Jones High School was named after Mr Guy Carleton Jones, who was one of the pioneers of mining on the far West Rand. Since the official opening of the school, it has been a place where all students in Gauteng can call home, as it celebrates and embraces ethnic and cultural diversity.

Carleton Jones High School is a fee-paying registered public Secondary English School, located in the West Rand and serves the Merafong, Carletonville community and its surrounding areas. Our academic standards are high and the commitment of our well-educated teaching staff, assist us to uphold this reputation.

Our aim is to support one another and we strive to make students of all backgrounds, feel valued.
